Big Breakfast (Tiny Dinner) Takes Off Pounds

Of the many weight loss strategies out there, one thing that has never been touted is the “cake and ice cream diet.” This is because eating these foods is traditionally associated with gaining weight, not losing it. However, a new study suggests that a person can still shed pounds and eat snacks, as long as they consume most of their calories in the morning.

Researchers from Tel Aviv University discovered that obese dieters who ate a 600-calorie breakfast, complete with dessert, lost an average of 40 more pounds than people on a 300-calorie breakfast plan.

Furthermore, individuals in the 600-calorie breakfast group had an easier time keeping the weight off in the long run. This could be due to the fact that people in this group reported that they did not crave sugary foods throughout the rest of the day after being able to indulge in the morning.

According to study authors, the key to this diet plan is to eat a big breakfast. This way, the body uses all of the calories consumed in the morning as energy throughout the day, which may lead to significant weight loss.
