What you eat can affect your fertility. Researchers at the Massachusetts General Hospital Fertility Center have uncovered evidence that foods high in saturated fat reduce sperm quality. On the other hand, the omega-3 fatty acids in fish improve sperm.
The study, published in the journal Human Reproduction, found that men who ate the most saturated fat had a sperm count 35 percent lower than those who ate the least. In general, a diet lower in fat also improved sperm by 43 percent.
The researchers examined 99 men in their 30s who are taking part in a long-term study of fertility.
