By the Time I Get to Phoenix - Glen Campbell

"By the Time I Get to Phoenix" is a song written by Jimmy Webb. Originally recorded by Johnny Rivers in 1965, it was covered by American country music singer Glen Campbell on his album of the same name. Released on Capitol Records in 1967, Campbell's version topped RPM's Canada Country Tracks, reached number two on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart, and won two awards at the 10th Annual Grammys.[1] Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) named it the third most performed song from 1940 to 1990.[2] The song was ranked number 20 on BMI's Top 100 Songs of the Century.[3] Frank Sinatra called it "the greatest torch song ever written."[4]

Ryman Country Homecoming that aired on the Nashville Network, October 5, 1999. Hosted by Ralph Emery and Bobby Bare. It was recorded as a three volume video set. Artists included: Glen Campbell, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Crystal Gayle (Loretta Lynn's sister), B.J. Thomas, Ricky Van Shelton, and Roy Clark.

~ I own this Collection , it's a 3 Volume set and what you miss on here is all the joking around and talking between songs. One that comes to mind right off the top of my head is one between WAYLON & BOBBY BARE about 'French Kissing' !!...Totally Priceless !!

hoofpick8
What is the name of the 3 set volume? Is it still available?
Frank Hebner

Farewell Party - Gene Watson

Boars Nest
Verse 1:
When the last, breath of life
Is gone from, my body
And my lips, are as cold as the sea
When my friends gather 'round
For my, farewell party
Want you, pretend you love me

Chorus:
There will be flowers from those
Who cry, when I'm gone
And leave you in this, world alone
I know you'll have fun
At my, farewell party
I know, you'll be glad, when I'm gone

Verse 2:
Don't be mad at me, for wanting to keep you
Till my life on this old world is through
You'll be free at the end of my farewell party
But I'll go away loving you

Repeat Chorus:
Oh, I know you'll be glad when I'm gone
