Five Reasons to Get More Magnesium

If you feel tired, weak, or nauseated… You might have a magnesium deficiency. And you’re definitely not alone. In fact, most people don’t have enough.1
 INH Research
You should be getting at least 400 mg of magnesium a day. But most of us don’t. Here are five ways getting more of it can help save your health.
And talk about dangerous… This powerful mineral keeps us healthy and prevents serious ailments. Things like hypertension and osteoporosis. But there’s even more to it than that.
Here are five reasons to get more magnesium.
1. Stops Anxiety: Magnesium supports your nervous system. Low levels cause a disruption. This can lead to anxiety and depression. Some experts even believe a magnesium deficiency is a direct cause of depression…2 And about half of the people diagnosed with depression also have anxiety.
Most doctors throw dangerous drugs—like benzodiazepines—at people with anxiety or depression. But just three months of use can raise your Alzheimer’s risk by 51% (among other dangers). Yet numerous studies show that magnesium eased depression and anxiety where these drugs failed. Without any side effects.3
2. Eases Stress: It doesn’t just support your nervous system. Magnesium stops cortisol levels from getting too high. It also helps your body produce melatonin which makes it easier to relax and fall asleep.4 Magnesium may help you fight headaches and fatigue. These are two of the most common signs of stress.
When you’re under stress, your body uses up magnesium faster.5 The result? Even more stress. It can also steal this mineral away from your bones and heart. This is why getting more magnesium from your diet alone may not be enough.
3. Prevents Diabetes: Magnesium can help keep your glucose levels under control. Just look at pistachios. They’re rich in magnesium. One study revealed eating 100 pistachios a day helped lower blood sugar levels by 78%.6
Another study found high magnesium intake cuts risks of diabetes by 33%.7 It can also reduce insulin sensitivity. Diabetics who took 365 mg a day significantly lowered insulin resistance after six months.8
4. Fights Cancer: Magnesium helps lower your colorectal cancer risk. About 95% of cases are adenocarcinomas. They begin with a tumor growth. Eventually, these growths can turn cancerous. Yet every 100 mg of magnesium you add to your diet each day lowers your risk of a growth ever developing by 13%. And if you already have a growth, you can reduce the odds of it becoming cancerous by 12%.
Magnesium may also help you avoid pancreatic cancer. One study found just two handfuls of magnesium-rich nuts a week can reduce your risk by 35%.
5. Keeps Telomeres Long: It’s the key to looking younger and living longer… Telomerase is the enzyme that controls the length of your telomeres. Without enough, you may age even faster. And this enzyme depends on magnesium. The mineral helps replicate and stabilize DNA.9
This might be the reason why people die of a magnesium deficiency… Researchers found low levels of magnesium increases death risk by 85%.10 Not getting enough of this mineral could kill you in as little as 10 years.
A magnesium-rich diet contains about 400 mg a day. This might sound like a lot. But it’s not as hard as it seems. Salads are a great start. Try spinach, chopped almonds, avocados, and shrimp. One square of organic dark chocolate contains 95 mg of magnesium.11
You can also find a magnesium supplement. Just make sure you read the label before purchasing. Look for one that gives you at least 200 mg per serving of natural magnesium.

PART 1 - Why There’s No Such Thing as Heart Cancer - MUST READ

At this year’s Annie Appleseed cancer conference in West Palm Beach, health advocate Al Sanchez, Jr., made a provocative statement I’d never thought of before. He pointed out that cancer, a disease that can attack practically any organ of the body, never attacks the heart.

By Lee Euler / April 21, 2019
(This is the first of two articles about the 2019 Annie Appleseed cancer conference held in West Palm Beach, Florida.)
The explanation is simple. He said, “The heart is always active, always in motion. There’s no time for cancer to develop there. The heart gets the maximum amount of blood and the maximum amount of oxygen.”
What can we learn from this as far as avoiding other types of cancer?
The obvious lesson from this nugget of wisdom is that good circulation and oxygenation throughout the body are essential for health and protect the body from cancer.
In contrast to the heart, the other organs don’t move as much, especially when one’s breathing is shallow, which is typical for cancer patients. The act of deep breathing provides the organs with a gentle massage, causing them to move, while oxygenating the blood that travels throughout the body. Deep breathing also cancels out stress and promotes the relaxation necessary for restorative sleep and healing.
The typical cancer patient doesn’t make the time for regular exercise, doesn’t consider it essential, and hears nothing about it from a cancer doctor, whose primary concern is to get the patient on chemo.
As a consequence, the patient’s circulation and oxygenation are impaired, and the impairment is made even worse by shallow breathing. Sensible, moderate exercise — even just going on a brisk walk every day — should be considered the No. 1 “go-to” mandatory therapy for cancer, to which other remedies are added.
There’s no excuse for not exercising,
says a leading cancer doctor
One of the keynote speakers, Dr. Greg Burzynski, M.D., made the point: “Do you make time to brush your teeth? Then you can make time to exercise!”
The importance of oxygenation and circulation fits perfectly with the theory of cancer in ancient oriental medicine. Every year the Annie Appleseed conference features Dr. George Love, Jr., D.O.M. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine), who explains that cancer is caused by a stagnation of blood and of qi (pronounced “chee”).
In the Oriental tradition, qi is the body’s vital energy. Dr. Love, who is recognized as a primary care physician by the state of Florida, treats patients who have cancer by recommending specific qigong exercises (repetitive moving meditations, similar to dancing) plus deep breathing to get the blood and the qi flowing.
Reportedly, the qigong exercises all by themselves have reversed some cases of cancer. You can find these exercises on YouTube videos or by ordering Dr. Love’s video “Meridian QiGong: 14 exercises that stimulate the meridians,” available on Amazon.
And more news about breath and movement…
“Breath, Movement, and Meditation” was the title of the talk by Linda Scheele, a wine merchant who became a yoga teacher and now speaks to audiences about health and wellness.
Her advice is to “Slow down your breathing. When you’re born, you breathe through your nose.” She pointed out that nose-breathing has many advantages over mouth-breathing. The hairs inside the nostrils stop pollen, and mucus in the nasal passages stops bacteria.
Air going through the filtering system in the nostrils creates nitric oxide and helps keep the airways open. When oxygen fills your lungs, it goes into your blood and nourishes all of your cells. But without oxygenation, the cells don’t detox and become sluggish.
She emphasized that “stress is a killer,” and recommended yoga breathing to get rid of the stress and promote the parasympathetic nervous system (the “rest and digest” state of relaxation).
If you can’t cure cancer, then stabilize it
Cancer survivor Wendi Saggese gave an amazingly insightful talk on “Hope, Disease, and State of Mind.” When she was diagnosed in 2010 with cancer, a doctor told her, “You have a year to live.” She’s now 58 and is always looking for ways to feel better about herself.
But during her first two years with cancer she said she was “a mess.” She thought she had to fix her cancer before she could enjoy her life. She now realizes that she had it backwards: when you have cancer you have to find the happy spirit in life FIRST, and then you can make excellent progress to recover from the disease!
Before she discovered this insight, she would sometimes wake up in the middle of the night, freaking out with stress, and say to herself, “My gosh, I really do have cancer! I have to figure out which therapy I should do, and then I can go back to sleep.”
Once again, she had it backwards. She told the Annie Appleseed audience it’s sometimes necessary to relax, take a vacation from your thinking, and find a way to enjoy your life, which she calls “the sweet spot” that promotes healing.
Out of that “sweet spot,” Ms. Saggese said she felt drawn to work with a particular doctor or with a particular alternative therapy. She made an analogy between the struggle of a cancer patient and the struggle of a baseball player who’s stuck in a slump: “You don’t have to hit the home run before you can feel good now. Feel good now in order to hit the home run!”
It’s also significant that Ms. Saggese still has cancer, which is neutralized and isn’t progressing. This is known as a state of stable disease, which should be considered a victory!
Most people think that when you have cancer you have to kill every speck of it in your body or else it’s going to kill you. This is not always necessary. It’s only necessary to get the upper hand over the cancer and keep on top of it.
Many people live with cancer for years. Meanwhile, you can enjoy life instead of obsessing about extinguishing every last trace of cancer. When the cancer has been stopped and neutralized, it’s no longer an unstoppable juggernaut that casts a dark shadow over the patient’s life.
Explained: The Cancer Field Theory
The keynote speech was by Dr. Henning Saupe, M.D., who runs a cancer clinic in Germany. He spoke on “The Cancer Field Theory,” an approach he applies in his holistic center, which emphasizes immunotherapy.
Dr. Saupe stated that “all true healing begins with breathing exercises. Breathing exercises are very, very important. Patients should spend more time in nature and move more.” It’s been said that deep breathing alone has made many a sick man well – a belief that tallies well with the speakers I just described.
Dr. Saupe pointed out that everyone normally develops a few thousand cancer cells every day.  It’s no big deal because a healthy immune system nips these cancer cells, restoring homeostasis (the tendency of a healthy body to self-regulate and maintain the internal environment in a stable state). Therefore, he emphasized that his goal isn’t the 100 percent elimination of cancer cells — an unrealistic expectation! He recognizes that stable disease is a good outcome.
Dr. Saupe said when cancer advances enough to be considered a disease, it indicates that there has been a deep change in what he calls the “bio-field,” which is sometimes called the bio-terrain or the milieu.
The bio-field is where the primordial life force is found. “What POWER drives biochemical reactions? That’s the question that’s never asked in Western medicine,” he challenged the audience. He designed his cancer therapies to address the factors that are known to impair the bio-field and the immune system that exists within it.
How to harness the power of your mind to cure cancer
Probably most people believe that scientists understand the immune system, but Dr. Saupe said there are 250 types of immune cells and that “no immunologist knows everything about the immune system. We may understand about four percent of what will be learned about it in the future.”
I can easily believe that, as I’ve seen one scientific orthodoxy after another fall prey to new findings.
Dr. Saupe showed a jaw-dropping slide, magnified 20,000 times, of a t-lymphocyte – a type of immune cell — reaching out an actual claw to attack a cancer cell! Patients can use this image to visualize the immune system attacking and killing cancer cells. He believes visualization harnesses the healing power of mind-body medicine – and there is significant evidence for this belief.
In 2009 I interviewed the father of mind-body medicine, Dr. O. Carl Simonton, M.D., a few months before his death. Dr. Simonton toured Germany, where Dr. Saupe met him and was influenced by him.
Dr. Saupe learned the visualization techniques of mind-body medicine, which are known to strengthen a patient’s immune system. Patients who are familiar with the Pac-Man video game, for example, can visualize their immune system as a vast army of Pac-Man clones that gobble up cancer cells relentlessly. That’s pretty much what happens when the immune system identifies cancer cells as targets and starts zapping them.
Dr. Saupe quoted an immunologist, Dr. Christian Schubert, who said, “There is no difference between our feelings and our immune system.” When the patient has happy, creative feelings and feels thankful, the immune system gets immediately stronger.
The inflammation bogey-man
One huge factor that drags the immune system down is chronic inflammation, as distinguished from acute inflammation. Dr. Saupe explained that when you accidentally hit your thumb with a hammer, for example, acute inflammation comes to the rescue, your thumb turns red, and the healing, repair, and reconstruction begins.
But chronic stress causes the bad kind of inflammation, which damages the bio-field and immune system. He said, “We have to cool down the silent inflammation to return the immune system back to normal.”
To cool down the inflammation for patients in his clinic, Dr. Saupe finds that stress management and detoxification are crucial. His therapies help patients excrete toxins through their breath, urine, sweat, and stool. As in other holistic clinics, patients are evaluated for nutritional deficiencies, which are remedied.
Cancer patients who can’t forgive
only hurt themselves
To bring stress under control, patients at the clinic work with a mental coach to learn healing meditations and to practice forgiveness for others and for one’s self. Several speakers warned that holding a grudge sabotages recovery from cancer. It’s necessary to let go and forgive in order to move forward to healing and health.
The clinic provides patients with two to two-and-a-half liters of pure water per day to treat a water deficiency. To boost the intake of oxygen, it treats patients with hyperbaric oxygen.
The clinic considers gut flora crucial for health. Take care of your gut flora,” Dr. Saupe advised. “Check it with a stool analysis. Eat more fermented food, such as sauerkraut  and kimchi. Cabbage is great. Sauerkraut is very healthy. The quality of the microbiome correlates with life expectancy.”
Many alternative health advocates emphasize the need to change the body from acidic to alkaline, but Dr. Saupe discourages the focus on alkalinity. He says it’s more important to get the right balance.Alkalinity isn’t a cancer cure. Don’t take too much baking soda, which can be dangerous.”
His clinic uses the state-of-the-art tools that you’ll find in the other cancer clinics in Germany, such as hyperthermia, magnetic field therapy, high dose vitamin C, and so on, plus an eating plan that includes fish, vegetables, and fruit, low intake of red meat, and no pork at all. He calls this eating plan an anti-inflammatory diet.
One of his patients took the microphone and gave Dr. Saupe her highest recommendation, saying, “He didn’t overpromise. He encouraged me to make changes in my life for good. He gave me the book Radical Remission by Kelly Turner, and I read it during my first trip to Germany. He’s a brilliant doctor!”
His clinic, the Arcadia-Praxisklinik located in Bad Emstal, Germany, is one of the few first-class cancer clinics in Germany that I haven’t yet visited myself. To discover why so many Americans are going to Germany to get rid of their cancer, click here.
Health advocate Rick Shapiro, who used to practice law, spoke about his new book Hope Never Dies, which has become an Amazon best seller. This book is giving a bright ray of hope to many cancer patients.
Like the previously mentioned book Radical Remission, Mr. Shapiro’s book is jam-packed with stories of patients who had been told by doctors they had only weeks or months to live. These patients proved their doctors flat-out wrong. That’s why he urged patients at the conference not to believe such predictions He also interviewed some top doctors for his book.
Next issue will feature Part Two of Andrew Scholberg’s report on the Annie Appleseed Conference.

The Most Dreaded Development in Cancer – and How to Prevent It

Just about the worst news a patient can get is that cancer cells have spread from the original tumor to other parts of the body. This process, called metastasis, does not have a good prognosis.

By Lee Euler / May 11, 2019

Early stage cancer is almost always treatable and you can often get rid of it altogether. Metastatic cancer – the more advanced stage — is a much more serious problem.
So you want to do everything you can to prevent metastasis or slow it down if you’ve got it. Fortunately, there’s a lot. . . and most of the options would benefit all of us whether we have cancer or not.
A study at the Brain Metastasis Group at the Spanish National Cancer Research Center shows that silibinin, an extract from the herb milk thistle, can reduce brain lesions linked to cancer metastases. And unlike most conventional treatments for cancer, silibinin doesn’t cause harmful side effects.
The brain is a common target of cancer cells looking for new sites to colonize. According to the Spanish researchers, from 10% to 40% of cancerous tumors in the body lead to metastases that invade the brain — with often fatal results.
Until now, the primary conventional treatment for these brain tumors has been surgery, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. But only about one of five cancer patients successfully recover with the help of those methods.
Special mechanism blocks metastasis
A big problem, the Spanish researchers found, is that astrocytes, immune cells that roam the brain, can help the cancer cells survive in brain tissue. But astrocytes are only the evil accomplices of cancer when one of their genes – called STAT3 – is activated.1
Silibinin can block this activation.
And when the investigators tested silibinin on people with lung cancer, they found that 75% of the time the herbal extract helped slow the development of metastatic tumors in the brain. Plus, survival time in this group of patients was four times that of people who didn’t receive silibinin.
There are many milk thistle products available on the market. My quick search did not turn up a pure silibinin supplement, and I don’t know how rich the general milk thistle supplements are in the specific silbinin extract. But I did find a Life Extension product called European Milk Thistle: Silymarin-Silibinins-Isosilybin A & B that specifically claims to contain this compound.
Turn off the lights
An easy, do-it-yourself way to lower the risk of cancer spreading is to make sure you sleep in a totally dark room at night.
That’s right – all you have to do is make sure your bedroom is pitch black at night. Researchers at Tulane have demonstrated that if somebody with breast cancer sleeps in a room that is even dimly lit, the exposure to light can increase the risk that cancer will spread into their bones.
You need darkness at night to help the daily circadian rhythms of your cells function properly and prevent the migration of cancer cells.2
“Exposure to dim light at night induces circadian disruption, which then increases the formation of bone metastatic breast cancer,” says researcher Muralidharan Anbalagan, who teaches at the Tulane University School of Medicine.
“This is important,” he added, “as many patients with breast cancer are likely exposed to light at night as a result of lack of sleep, stress, excess light in the bedroom from mobile devices and other sources, or night shift work.”
By keeping light out of the room you sleep in, you encourage the secretion of the anti-cancer hormone melatonin. “Our research identified the importance of an intact nocturnal circadian melatonin anti-cancer signal in suppressing bone-metastatic breast tumor growth,” says Dr. Anbalagan.
Eating habits that help prevent metastasis
What you eat and drink also affects your metastatic risk. According to biomedical engineers at Duke University, anyone with cancer should avoid foods that contain high-fructose corn syrup.
Of course, I believe — and there’s plenty of research to back this up — that anyone who wants to be healthy should avoid food and drinks containing corn syrup.
According to the Duke studies, when cancer cells start to roam, they may seek out the liver to feast on, because fructose accumulates in that organ if your diet has been rich in high-fructose corn syrup.
The Duke study focused on cancer cells from tumors in the colon. The researchers found that although these wandering cancer cells are still genetically identical to what they were in the digestive tract, when they sense fructose in the liver, they undergo epigenetic effects – genes are activated that allow the cancer cells to gorge on the liver’s supply of fructose.3
“Genetically speaking, colon cancer is colon cancer no matter where it goes,” says researcher Xiling Shen, “but that doesn’t mean that it can’t respond to a new environment (like the liver). We had a hunch that such a response might not be genetic, but metabolic in nature.”
Dr. Shen notes that certain metabolic genes became more active in liver metastases than they were in the original primary tumor. It seems that when the liver has been stocking up on fructose, the rich pickings stimulate the genes in the cancer cells that help them use fructose to fuel their functions.
So if you’ve been eating the typical American diet, full of soft drinks and other sweet treats flavored with high fructose corn syrup, you are filling your body with cancer’s favorite food.
“When cancer cells get to the liver, they’re like a kid in a candy store,” warns Dr. Shen. “They use this ample new energy supply to create building blocks for growing more cancer cells.”
Control stress to control cancer
While folks who study cancer have long suspected that stress can increase your risk for the spread of cancer, it’s only within the last year or so that researchers have started to untangle some of the specific factors that lead from stress to metastasis.
In lab tests on breast cancer conducted at the University of Basel in Switzerland, researchers discovered that the stress hormones cortisol and corticosterone interact with receptors on cancer cells that help the cells colonize other organs. The hormones also help the cells survive and proliferate in various organs around the body.4
At the same time, researchers at the University of Illinois have found that epinephrine, another stress hormone, initiates a whole series of biochemical reactions that spurs on the growth of breast cancer and encourages its metastatic spread.5
These researchers conclude that controlling stress is a key way to control the spread of cancer. The Basel researchers suggest exercising along with relaxation techniques like meditation to limit stress. And findings by the scientists in Illinois indicate that vitamin C may help. Their lab tests found evidence that vitamin C may be able to shrink metastatic tumors.
Don’t wait to adopt these healthy habits
I think that when researchers perform more studies on how to protect against metastases, they’ll probably also find that eating a diet filled with fruits and vegetables can up the body’s defenses against metastases. So far, only a few studies have found that this kind of diet reduces your risk of aggressive cancer. The evidence is not quite definitive.6 But I wouldn’t wait to adopt a diet rich in fresh produce.
And for sure it’s a good idea to sleep in a dark bedroom, take some vitamin C, and control stress through exercise and meditation. Those habits all have multiple health benefits along with their anti-cancer characteristics.
I also feel confident in recommending regular milk thistle supplementation. It’s healthy for a whole list of reasons besides its effect on cancer. I take a daily milk thistle supplement myself.

Reduce stress by massaging these pressure points on your body

If you’re feeling stressed and worried, you can find instant relief by massaging certain points on your body.
July 10, 2019

This is known as pressure point therapy (acupressure). Ancient, traditional medicine used pressure points to improve blood and energy flow and bring relief to patients. It has been used to relieve tension, nausea and pain, improve digestion and sleep and help people heal faster.
“Science says there are thousands of pressure points. New pressure points are being discovered day by day,” he said. “Pressure point treatment began in China, but we Muslims have also been working on it since the beginning. Hijama therapy is based on pressure points.”
He said that in order for treatment to be effective, it’s important that you go to a consultant who knows what the pressure point connects to in the body.
Pressure points for back pain relief
A sedentary lifestyle or incorrect posture can lead to back pain. Tabrez demonstrated a pressure point on the arm that can be massaged to provide relief from upper and lower back pain. You can feel an improvement within three days.
Extend your right arm in front of you and locate the point on the middle of your forearm. Massage the point for 40 seconds on the first day, 30 seconds on the second day and 10 seconds on the third day. Then, massage using oils such as sesame oil.
Another point for back pain lies close to the wrist, in the centre of the forearm. Massage the point gently first and then press it three times. During the fourth press, hold for 10 seconds and then let go.
Pressure points for stress and migraine relief
Headaches, stress and migraines can be treated by massaging pressure points at the back of the neck. The first point is located at the base of the skull. Massage the two bony prominences on either side to relieve tension and improve blood flow to the brain.
Then, massage the point behind your ear. Press lightly between the two points three times to make your head feel lighter.
