Mosquitoes are nobody’s friends. These nasty critters cause annoying irritations and pass on a variety of diseases, including the West Nile virus and malaria. But you can get fewer bites with a few modest precautions.
According to the American Mosquito Control Association, you can cut down on mosquito bites:
- Stay indoors at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
- Don’t go out during a full moon. Mosquitoes are five times more active during a full moon.
- Wear light color clothing. Mosquitoes bite people in black more often.
- Don’t move around so much when the bugs attack. Mosquitoes are 50 percent more likely to bite people who are fidgety or exercising.
- Keep your feet clean. Mosquitoes are attracted to dirty, smelly feet.
