Getting your hair cut can not only make you feel lighter but also can affect your mood—for the better. Shorter hair can be easier and take less time to coif. In the summer, you can feel the breeze on your neck. And what does it do to your attitude? Writer Joyce Maynard, who wrote about her first haircut in 23 years in the The New York Times Magazine, noted that “it’s only hair of course,” but she observed in herself “a marked elevation in energy, optimism, ambition and confidence...”. A good haircut, she wrote, “can definitely put a person in the mood for showing it off.”
