Elizabeth Holmes has given birth to her first child.
The 37-year-old Theranos founder, who is awaiting criminal trial for 12 counts of fraud, welcomed her first child with partner Billy Evans last month.
ABC News uncovered birth records that show Holmes gave birth to a baby boy named William Holmes Evans on July 10 in Redwood City, Calif.
Holmes first revealed that she was pregnant back in March 2021 in documents that were filed to the court. Her trial was scheduled to begin on July 13, but her pregnancy delayed the trial’s start date until August 31.
The charges against Holmes stem from allegations that she “engaged in a multimillion-dollar scheme to defraud investors about her blood-testing company, and a separate scheme to defraud doctors and patients,” according to ABC.
Holmes faced up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for each of the 12 counts. She has pleaded not guilty.
