Chelation Study Shows The Therapy Benefits Heart Patients

Still, mainstream medical critics refuse to keep an open mind about the therapy.

“It’s a type of medical quackery that has been around for many decades,” Dr. Steven Nissen, chair of cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, complained to the Los Angeles Times.

The research on chelation took a decade and cost more than $30 million dollars. It showed that chelation reduced heart patients’ risk of future heart problems. Fewer people having chelation needed their arteries reopened.

The researchers who performed the study thought it would show that chelation was worthless.

Instead, the experiment found it had merit.

“I can’t overemphasize how unexpected these results were,” researcher Gervasio Lamas told the Times.
