Ten horrifying ingredients that prove McDonald’s is not fit for consumption

There’s no doubt that most hard-working Americans like their fast food. Even though they know the bare facts – fast food is high in fat, sodium and sugar and can cause diabetes, heart disease and obesity – they still eat tons of it every year.

Image: Ten horrifying ingredients that prove McDonald’s is not fit for consumption

2013 Gallup survey reported that eight in 10 Americans eat fast food monthly, and almost half confessed to eating it at least once a week.

While most of us are aware that every mouthful of a McDonald’s meal contains fat-promoting ingredients, we often don’t realize how many chemicals are in there too. Let’s look at 10 horrifying ingredients that should flip your appetite for a Big Mac. (RELATED: Learn more about toxic food ingredients at Ingredients.news)

1.      Ammonium sulfate

Ammonium sulfate is an inorganic salt used as a fertilizer and flame retardant, and it is also added to Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide. But did you know that ammonium sulfate can also be found in a burger bun? This nasty chemical has been associated with irritation of the gastrointestinal tract, diarrhea, nausea and hormone disruption.

2.      Silicone oil

If you are a chicken nuggets lover then you are a regular consumer of dimethylpolysiloxane, also known as silicone oil. Silicone oil is a synthetic material used to make contact lenses, caulking, silly putty and lubricants. The use of this non-biodegradable oil has been decreased in breast implants due to safety concerns.

3.      Cysteine-L

Cysteine-L is an amino acid synthesized from human hair or duck feathers. It is used to flavor meat and soften bread and pastries. Consumption of cysteine-L has been linked to constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, rashes, fever, headaches, drowsiness, low blood pressure and liver problems.

4.      TBHQ

TBHQ, or tertiary butylhydroquinone, is a petroleum-based additive found in cosmetic products and 18 different McDonald’s menu items. Although the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified this chemical as totally safe for human consumption, long-term use can result in aggravation of ADHD symptoms, stomach cancer, damaged DNA and death.

5.      Propylene glycol

Found in anti-freeze, e-cigarettes and fast food, propylene glycol can cause damage to the central nervous system and worsen existing allergies and eye and skin conditions.

6.      Prescription drugs

Researchers at the Johns Hopkins University found alarming levels of antidepressants and other prescription, over-the-counter and banned drugs in chicken feed and chicken products from fast food restaurants. Because McDonald’s doesn’t use organic chicken, their chicken products very likely contain traces of prescription medications or antibiotics.

7.      Dimethylpolysiloxane

Dimethylpolysiloxane is often added to cooking oils used to prepare McDonald’s filet-o-fish, chicken nuggets and French fries. Besides being found in most fried fast foods, dimethylpolysiloxane is also utilized in the production of silly putty, contact lenses, caulking, shampoos and conditioners, breast implants, cosmetics, polishes and heat resistant tiles.

8.      Carminic acid

Carminic acid is a red food dye synthesized by cochineal beetles. It is often added to fast food meats to give them a more vibrant and appealing color. Until 2009, carmine, cochineal extract or natural red 4, were classified as “natural dyes.” These days, however, the FDA requires carmine and cochineal extract to be explicitly identified in ingredient lists because they can cause severe allergic reactions in some people.

9.      Cellulose

While cellulose may be a natural product produced from wood pulp, who wants to eat lots of indigestible wood fibers? Cellulose is added to nearly every fast food item as a way to add volume. It can be found in cheese, salad dressing, muffins and strawberry syrup, among many others. You name it, and chances are wood pulp is in there.

10.  Silicon dioxide

Also known as silica or industrial sand, silicon dioxide is used to make glass, optical fibers and cement. The fast food industry often adds it to meat and sauces to keep them from clumping together. In an industrial setting, workers handling silicon dioxide wear hazmat suits and masks. Nonetheless, the FDA sees no harm in adding this industrial chemical to your burger bun.

Still lovin’ it? Next time you are looking for a quick meal, you may want to think twice before heading to the closet McDonald’s restaurant.

Natural citrus fruit extract can activate cancer-killing cells

Could a simple fruit extract really help kill cancer? Recent research certainly seems to suggest just that. Modified citrus pectin may help to inhibit the expression of galectin-3 —  a type of protein that has been recognized as a biomarker of cancer.

Image: Natural citrus fruit extract can activate cancer-killing cells

Scientists have struggled to create a pharmaceutical product that can combat the overexpression of galectin-3, but evidence of modified citrus pectin’s ability to prevent it continues to mount. (RELATED: Learn more about the healing power of nutritional supplements at SupplementsReport.com)

What is galectin-3, and what does it do?

Galectins are a group of proteins that belong to the lectin family, characterized by their galactose-specific carbohydrate recognition domain. Galectin-3 is one of the most studied galectins, and research continues to show that it is both directly and indirectly connected to cancer cell activity and may contribute to cancer progression in a number of different ways, including cancer progression and metastasis.

Galectin-3 is not all bad, though. It is produced by the human body and is necessary for tissue growth and repair. Excessive production of the protein, however, is likely to become problematic. An excessively high level of galactin-3 is a biomarker for cancer, as well as a strong indicator of heart disease and kidney disease. Researchers now believe that in addition to being an indicator of disease, galectin-3 is also capable of encouraging the growth and spread of cancer.

One of the functions of galectin-3 is to actually stoke immune system response and create inflammation, to help destroy invading pathogens after tissue damage. In cases of injury, galectin-3 serves to help “seal off” the area by causing chronic inflammation.

Galectin-3 promotes cancer growth and proliferation in a few different ways. Essentially, it makes it easier for cancer cells to adhere to the walls of blood vessels, and in this way, helps the cancer spread. The protein is also produced by cancer cells themselves, which can further their proliferation. Galectin-3 is also said to help malignant cells escape apoptosis, or programmed cell death. In turn, these cancerous cells can continue to multiply, and produce more galectin-3.

Fortunately, there appears to be a natural way to curb this vicious cycle.

Modified citrus pectin: what it is, and how it can help

Modified citrus pectin, or MCP for short, is a complex carbohydrate, similar to the natural pectin found in fruit. Pectin contains galactosides (sugar molecules), which are capable of bonding with galectin-3. The binding activity of MCP’s galactosides to galectin-3 blocks the protein’s damaging behavior and disrupts its signaling abilities. To put it simply, MCP essentially shuts down the galectin-3 protein and stops its harmful effects in their tracks. This could be useful not just in cancer treatment, but in other areas as well.

In an animal study, MCP not only inhibited the levels of galectin-3, it also reversed inflammation, fibrosis and thickening of blood vessel walls. This finding suggests that in the instance of heart disease, MCP can help to reverse the damaging effects of excessive galectin-3, and undo the changes that can often lead to heart failure. (RELATED: Learn more about the disease prevention properties of natural remedies at Remedies.news)

Studies have also shown that MCP can stimulate the immune system and boost production of natural killer cells, which can locate and destroy cancer cells. Several different studies have illustrated these potential cancer-killing effects. For example, a study published in 2015 by the journal PLOS One found that MCP induced cell death in two different types of cancer cells. Another study, published by BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine in 2011 found that MCP activated natural killer cells that were then able to target and destroy leukemic cancer cells.

Other studies have also shown that MCP may be able to help stop cancer from spreading to other areas. In animals, MCP has been shown to prevent skin cancer from spreading to the lungs, and has also prevented colon cancer from spreading to the liver.

Perhaps citrus pectin will prove to be the next all-natural cancer cure. While this research is only the beginning, it is certainly promising. Who knows what independent science could reveal next.

Using vitamin C correctly in high doses kills cancer cells

One of the greatest controversies in oncology may have been resolved: Researchers may have discovered the reason that research into the effectiveness of high-dose vitamin C as a cancer treatment has been so mixed.

Monday, January 16, 2017 by:

Image: Researchers found that using vitamin C correctly in high doses kills cancer cells

When taken orally, massive quantities of vitamin C are either broken down or excreted unused by the body. In contrast, intravenous administration of vitamin C produces blood levels 100 to 500 times higher than oral administration.

This could explain why many clinical trials on vitamin C and cancer — most of which have used oral administration — failed to support the results seen in laboratory studies using cancer cells.

Surprisingly, the most recent study on the topic from researchers at the University of Iowa (UI), published in the journal Redox Biology, suggests that vitamin C’s cancer-fighting potential might come not from its antioxidant capabilities, as previously assumed. On the contrary, vitamin C appears to generate free radicals that tear apart cancer cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed. (RELATED: Learn more about the benefits of nutritional supplements at SupplementsReport.com)

Targeting a weakness of cancer cells

In prior research, the same scientists found that high-dose vitamin C selectively killed cancer cells in the laboratory, and had the same effect in mice … if the vitamin C was administered intravenously. In the new study, researchers sought to discover the causes behind this effect.

They found that in the body, vitamin C quickly breaks down, generating the free radical hydrogen peroxide as a byproduct. This is a paradoxical effect, because free radicals are the very cell- and DNA-damaging chemicals that antioxidants such as vitamin C remove from the body.

But the researchers further found that healthy cells seemed to have defensive mechanisms that easily allowed them to resist the oxidizing effects of hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide is, in fact, used as a defense mechanism by the body’s own immune system). Tumor cells, however, were much more likely to be damaged and destroyed by the chemical.

“In this paper we demonstrate that cancer cells are much less efficient in removing hydrogen peroxide than normal cells. Thus, cancer cells are much more prone to damage and death from a high amount of hydrogen peroxide,” lead researcher Garry Buettner said.
“This explains how the very, very high levels of vitamin C used in our clinical trials do not affect normal tissue, but can be damaging to tumor tissue.”

Treatment on the horizon?

The researchers found that healthy cells use various mechanisms to remove hydrogen peroxide, and that one of the primary mechanisms is the enzyme catalase. They found that the lower cells’ catalase activity, the more damage they suffered from hydrogen peroxide exposure.

“Our results suggest that cancers with low levels of catalase are likely to be the most responsive to high-dose vitamin C therapy, whereas cancers with relatively high levels of catalase may be the least responsive,” Buettner said.

The researchers are planning future research to develop ways to measure tumors’ catalase levels and test this hypothesis further.

UI researchers also conducted clinical trials using intravenous, high-dose vitamin C in patients with pancreatic and lung cancer. Earlier, smaller trials suggested that this treatment had limited side effects and might improve patient outcomes. The larger study hopes to establish whether vitamin C, in conjunction with other cancer treatments, actually boosts patient survival. (RELATED: Discover more medical breakthroughs news at Medicine.news)

Research continues to uncover new and surprising mechanisms by which vitamin C attacks cancer cells. A 2007 study by researchers from Johns Hopkins University found that many tumor cells rely on a protein known as HIF-1 for their survival, which allows them to continue growing in the absence of oxygen — which cancer cells tend to use up through their out-of-control reproduction. But HIF-1 only functions in high concentrations of free radicals, which vitamin C removes.

A 2015 study published in the journal Science found that in colorectal cancer cells with particular cell growth-related mutations, vitamin C induces oxidative stress and shuts down an enzyme that the cells use for reproduction. This finding was particularly promising, since cancer cells with this mutation are almost entirely immune to chemotherapy.

Editor’s note: We strongly recommend sourcing non-GMO vitamin C where possible. Most vitamin C is currently made from GMO corn. Very few providers currently offer non-GMO vitamin C.

Top 4 ways to improve liver function

Living in a world that has toxins at every turn has left our liver function in a hot mess. Everyday touches with toxins in our food, air, water, personal care, and household products has slowly but surely created a burden on this hard working organ that has compromised our ability to detoxify properly on a day-to-day basis.

Wednesday, November 12, 2014 by: Derek Henry

Liver detox

In order to reverse those consequences and optimize your liver function going forward, keep these 4 factors in mind.

Incorporate proper foods and eating habits

To safely begin detoxifying the liver, you don't want to run out and get the ingredients for the master cleanse or buy a potent herbal liver detoxification kit. Rather, you want to focus first on your diet and proper eating habits first.

You need to rest your digestive tract by eating smaller and lighter meals that are nutrient dense and easily assimilated and always stopping when you feel around 80% full. Some good options that fit this bill are low sugar smoothies, juices, salads, soups, and fermented foods like sauerkraut and coconut kefir. Stay as raw and low sugar as possible so as to rest your liver function and provide it with the necessary enzymes to properly do its job of detoxification.

Eliminate foods, products, and daily habits that hurt your liver

On the flip side, you need to eliminate or largely avoid foods and habits that will slow down or compromise liver function. This includes eating fats from animal meat, butter, dairy, and vegetable oils. Refined flour products, sugar, alcohol, and caffeine will also weaken the liver, primarily due to digestive distress and excessive sugar/starch handling that is required. Avoiding any foods that are GMO is also incredibly important.

Also, do your best to avoid chemicals in your food supply by making cleaner choices, and purify your water and air appropriately. Take note of personal care and household products that contain unrecognizable ingredients and substitute them with natural products.

Finally, realize that any prescriptions or medications are especially damaging to the liver and will always compromise its function. Lack of sleep and negative thoughts also contribute to its decline, so improving your sleep patterns and mindset are a must.

Consume liver detoxifying foods and herbs

To crank up your liver detoxification a bit more, focus on foods and herbs that are noted as being especially cleansing to the liver, including:
  • Broccoli
  • Cabbage
  • Beets
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Walnuts
  • Avocados
  • Apples
  • Grapefruit
  • Leafy green vegetables
  • Sauerkraut
  • Coconut kefir
Popular herbs that are well known to clean up liver function include:
  • Milk thistle
  • Dandelion
  • Burdock root
  • Artichoke
  • Turmeric
Consuming these foods and herbs on a consistent basis will help support, detoxify, and nourish your liver so that it can become healthy again and remove toxins on a day-to-day basis.

Improve your digestion

The gastrointestinal tract serves as the first line of defense once toxins have entered the body. If it becomes compromised, it allows disease causing agents to take root, often to the point that they break through the intestinal membrane and get into the bloodstream.

Once the bowels have become toxic, the rest of the body will soon follow. If the intestines keep on letting toxins through, the liver will bear most of the burden of eliminating these toxins by filtering and rendering these substances harmless and excreting them out of the body through the urine and stool. This is why improving your digestion is critical, to ensure there is not an excessive and consistent stream of toxins for your liver to deal with, or it will eventually become severely compromised.

Weight gain(NaturalNews) The issue of weight is a prevalent source of discontent especially in western cultures. It seems that we havewoken up and realized that weight control is about much more than keeping up appearances. Obesity rates have skyrocketed along with the associated adverse health conditions.

Each year more and more people choose to eat right and exercise but still struggle with weight issues and chronic degenerative conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, etc.

A seldom-discussed yet extremely important aspect of weight loss is liver function.

Traditional diets see-saw between high fat, nutritionally void foods and weight loss gimmicks and products that actually causes people to gain weight in the long run. In the middle of all this is a liver that grows, quite literally, fattier and more sluggish by the day.

The liver has two distinct and highly important functions. First, it is the body's chief blood detoxifier. Secondly, the liver is the body's primary fat metabolizer. Once the liver becomes sluggish and fatty it performs neither job well and we begin to pack on the pounds in earnest and have great difficulty losing the weight once it is on.

What are some causes of a fatty liver

A high fat diet (primarily animal fat) will most likely cause the liver to malfunction over time. Animal fats tend to contain toxic materials that were trapped by the animals body. When we ingest these fats the toxins are released in the liver where they have the ability to cause damage, inducing poor liver function.

Another cause of fatty liver is artificial sweetener use. Artificial sweeteners have been touted by industry as a zero calorie marvel that will help consumers reduce calories and lose weight. What is not revealed is that artificial sweeteners generally lead to long term weight gain. How, do you ask? Artificial sweeteners completely bypass the normal digestive stages and are immediately taken into the liver. The liver basically shuts down all other metabolic processes, including metabolizing fat, to contend with the sweetener. The fats in the liver are either released - without being fully metabolized - into the blood stream to be stored as unprocessed material or they attach themselves to the liver. Either way, this is bad news for your weight and health.

An additional prevalent culprit behind fatty liver is excessive alcohol use. Before the alcohol causes cirrhosis it makes the liver fatty, which is the beginning of the road to dysfunctional health and weight gain.

Finally, prescription and over-the-counter medications have adverse effects on the liver. Notice that almost all of the pharmaceutical commercials mention the liver and liver function. It is because they know how detrimental their medications are to the liver and the health dysfunctions, like weight gain, cirrhosis and liver failure that will occur when using their products. Continue taking your prescriptions but seek a holistic health professional who can assist with eliminating the underlying cause(s) of your condition which would eliminate the need for the medication.

How to avoid or reverse a fatty liver

Here are a few helpful tips that can get you started or keep you on the road to healthy liver function.

• Avoid artificial sweetener use
• Restrict or eliminate alcohol consumption
• Nourish the liver with fresh citrus juices, milk thistle, and licorice. A mixture of cayenne and lemon juice or cayenne and vegetable juice is a great liver nutritive
• Detoxify the colon to keep the digestive system flowing which increases metabolism and aids the liver in its proper functioning

It is clear that poor liver function will most likely lead to a malfunctioning and fatty liver, in turn making weight gain probable and weight loss unlikely.

If you are working diligently at exercising and eating right but still struggle to lose weight have your liver function checked to shed light on this little-known aspect of weight management.

Eliminate life-threatening cancers and terminal liver disease

(NaturalNews) Few people outside of the scientific community have even heard of it. Yet, the unique antioxidant alpha lipoic acid has established a proven history of regenerating organ tissue plus eliminating some of the deadliest of cancers, including cancerous cells found in the liver and pancreas.

Reverse disease

Thursday, February 25, 2016 by: Jonathan Landsman

Curing cancer with ALA. On the next NaturalNews Talk Hour, Jonathan Landsman will feature Dr. Burt Berkson, M.D., Ph.D. – who has been successfully curing patients of so-called 'terminal' conditions for years. Find out how using alpha lipoic acid therapy can help you restore healthy liver function and rid the body of life-threatening diseases.

A medical doctor on a mission to save lives

In the 1970s, Dr. Berkson started his work with terminal liver disease patients, but later helped people with a variety of life-threatening diseases and conditions. So, why have you not heard of this miracle treatment?

Since the time he cured his first two patients, Dr. Berkson has generated little fanfare for his breakthrough treatments. Of course, we can thank the established United States medical community, and a profit-driven drug industry, unwilling and unreceptive to low-cost treatments that sway from established, standard high-cost procedures.

You'd be surprised to hear what Dr. Berkson has been told (to his face) about his natural approach toward practicing medicine. One doctor even told him to 'shut up' and just 'quietly do his research' – because the money they make is focused on liver transplants, NOT making people healthy. (I guess that's bad for business)

On the next NaturalNews Talk Hour, Jonathan Landsman will be talking with Dr. Burt Berkson, M.D., Ph.D., published author and expert consultant to the Centers for Disease Control on alpha lipoic acid and liver poisoning, and the miraculous results he has seen from alpha lipoic acid therapy. He will also be sharing his views on the medical establishment that continues to give alternative treatments the cold shoulder.

The medical community places greater value on drug profits over saving lives with natural protocols

Imagine being told you had late stage liver or pancreatic cancer, and that it had metastasized. Your medical provider has given you only a couple of months to live. But then, in your desperate search to preserve your life, you come across an alternative treatment using alpha lipoic acid.

You undergo the treatments and your cancer is eliminated, restoring your health. So, why was the treatment not offered as an option to you through your regular provider or oncologist?

Since curing two patients dying of liver poisoning as a young resident in internal medicine at a teaching hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Berkson has experienced a cold reception to his use of alpha lipoic acid treatments for liver disease, cancer and other illnesses. Yet, he has published incredible results in scientific medical journals throughout Europe. Like the paper he published in the journal Integrative Cancer Therapies about a woman with pancreatic cancer that had metastasize to her liver.

Remarkable results from a natural protocol for eliminating cancer

This woman had been given no hope for survival. After first seeing her in December, Dr. Berkson began treating her. By May, the tumors in her pancreas had disappeared and the spread to her liver had vanished.

Another example: A man in his 40s, who walked into Dr. Berkson's office after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - which also had metastasized to his liver. Within three months of treatment through Dr. Berkson, the man was able to go back to work. Eight years later, he still shows no sign of cancer. Dr. Berkson published the case in a 2007 issue of Integrative Cancer Therapies.

Despite these incredible results, and many more like them, Dr. Berkson's work with alpha lipoic acid has failed to gain widespread acceptance by the established medical community. The answer, Dr. Berkson believes, lies in the unwillingness of conventional medicine to consider options outside what are considered to be "standards of treatment." He even relates how egotistical attitudes about accepting new ideas and the learning process can play into reception to alternative treatments within conventional medicine - a phenomenon mostly limited to the U.S. healthcare industry.

The pharmaceutical industry has created a brilliant way to control the intelligence of most doctors

Scientific journals in the U.S. have also shown little interest in natural healing protocols, likely driven by pharmaceutical companies ignoring alpha lipoic acid research because there are no big profits to be had. Without the backing of big pharma, scientific journals know there is little hope for added revenue from drug company advertising.

Dr. Berkson points out that pharmaceutical companies are driven by large profits. A low-cost, natural treatment like alpha lipoic acid is not going to garner attention from big pharma because there are not big profits to be made, making it unappealing to bring to the marketplace.

Don't let big pharma control your health. Discover how alpha lipoic acid can spur organ tissue regeneration and eliminate the threat of cancer. This program will inspire you – like nothing you've ever heard before. Join us for a great show!

This week's guest: Dr. Burt Berkson, M.D., Ph.D., integrative medical expert

Discover how to REVERSE life-threatening conditions like cancer and liver disease - Sun. Feb. 28

Dr. Berkson has both an M.D. degree and a Ph.D., the latter in microbiology. He serves as the expert consultant on alpha lipoic acid and liver poisoning for the Centers for Disease Control. He has published scientific papers in medical journals throughout Europe, and is a prominent scientific writer, researcher, and sought-after speaker.

Zeolite detox myth busted - MUST READ

In lab tests, zeolites do NOT bind with aluminum, lead, uranium, mercury or cadmium... only CESIUM

(NaturalNews) Much of what we've all been told about zeolites over the years is a myth. Sadly, even articles published on Natural News have inadvertently repeated this myth, although I am now directing staff to update all zeolite articles on Natural News to reflect the latest scientific findings I'm releasing on the public record.

Monday, November 02, 2015
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger

Last week, I released ICP-MS laboratory analysis data that show the elemental composition of zeolites. Those data reveal something astonishing: zeolites which are consumed as a daily dietary supplement by health-conscious people may contain anywhere from 10ppm to 60ppm lead, plus another 24,000 - 30,000ppm aluminum.

Given that many people are consuming 15g daily of this zeolite powder, they are effectively swallowing 750 micrograms of lead each day, along with as much as 450mg of aluminum daily.

Laboratory testing reveals metals claims to be bogus

The claim by zeolite manufacturers and marketers has long been that zeolites absorb these metals and remove them from the body. Thus, we were all told, even if zeolites contained some lead, that wouldn't be a problem because zeolites remove lead, we were promised.

After months of testing zeolites in the laboratory using a high-end Agilent 7700x ICP-MS instrument, I can now publicly state that zeolites are NOT effective at capturing or eliminating most heavy metals, including lead, uranium, mercury and cadium. Zeolites are also NOT effective at binding with aluminum.

See ICP-MS laboratory data below for full details. (And Click here for a tour of our lab website.)

We've all been hoodwinked by the zeolite industry

When it comes to zeolites, I believe we've all been hoodwinked by the zeolite industry and its marketers -- people who tend to just repeat the same myths they've heard from everybody else, usually without conducting any original research themselves. Even more worrisome, if I hadn't built the Natural News Forensic Food Lab and conducted this original research myself, none of what I'm about to tell you would have been made public by the zeolite manufacturers and marketers themselves.

It turns out that even zeolite consumers had no idea zeolites contained high levels of lead and aluminum. Most consumers have simply taken it on faith that zeolite marketers are telling the truth. The idea that "zeolites detox your body from heavy metals" is very nearly a truism mantra across the natural products industry. But it turns out to be no more true than the Flat Earth theories currently circulating across the 'net.

Zeolites turn out to be really, really bad at accomplishing the very thing they're promoted for: removing heavy metals from the body. The only well-known element zeolites are really strong at capturing and adsorbing is CESIUM, an element with several radioactive isotopes that often contaminate soils and water following nuclear disasters (Fukushima, Chernobyl). Cesium isotopes include 137 and 134, although 137 is by far the most worrisome and persistent in the environment (with a half life of around 29 years, if memory serves me correctly).

It seems I may very well be the only person in the world who has rigorously tested the binding ability of zeolites to various toxic elements and heavy metals in the laboratory. And here, I'm going to share the results with you that show zeolites to be all but worthless with most elements.

Metals Capturing Capacity

As you may recall, I pioneered a digestion simulation methodology that allowed me to test the ability of any substance to bind with toxic elements and heavy metals. Click here to watch my Metals Capturing Capacity video, or click here to see all my laboratory videos.

This process begins with placing the test substance into gastric acid that's almost identical to human gastric acid found in the stomach. The gastric acid solution is then spiked with a known concentration and quantity of selected heavy metals in aqueous form.

From there, the substance is gently rocked for several hours to simulate the churning of the stomach. During this process, some test substances will ABSORB toxic elements (or adsorb, in the case of zeolites), while others will EMIT toxic elements.

For example, I have long established that chlorella, peanut butter and strawberries are all very effective at trapping mercury. I've also found that certain sources of plant-derived calcium are extremely good at capturing lead and cadmium. In fact, this is how I invented my patent-pending Heavy Metals Defense formula shown at this site. As you can see from the laboratory results published there, this formula results in a 99.9% reduction of lead concentration in the gastric acid digestion simulator.

You might wonder, then, what percentage of lead reduction do zeolites accomplish in lab testing?

ZERO.

In fact, slightly worse than zero. Zeolites actually increased the lead concentration of the gastric acid:

Starting concentration of lead, analyzed via ICP-MS: 10,871ppb

Resulting concentration lead, after digestion with zeolites: 11,011 - 11,600ppb depending on the zeolite brand.

In other words, zeolites INCREASED the lead concentration, adding to the amount of lead in the gastric acid. (That's because zeolites contain a high concentration of lead and they can actually release lead during digestion.)

It's the same story for cadmium

Starting concentration of cadmium, analyzed via ICP-MS: 10,524ppb

Resulting concentration of cadium, after digestion with zeolites: 10,586 - 11,867ppb

The cadmium went UP!

Here's the result for arsenic:

Starting concentration of arsenic: 10,836ppb

Resulting concentration of arsenic, after digestion with zeolites: 9,028 - 11,198ppb

At this point, you might think something is wrong with my methodology. Why isn't zeolite adsorbing anything and reducing the concentration of potentially toxic elements?

It turns out that zeolites are very, very good at binding with CESIUM!

Starting concentration of cesium: 10,927ppb

Resulting concentration of cesium, after digestion with zeolites: 1,461 - 1,930ppb

In other words, zeolites adsorbed nearly 87% of cesium. So we know the process of measurement works. This is fully consistent with the known scientific literature on zeolites being used to help decontaminate soils surrounding nuclear accidents. The zeolites "trap" the cesium-134 and cesium-137, blocking it from being taken up by plant roots and contaminating the food supply.

But the zeolites I tested didn't reduce lead, cadmium or arsenic at all. In fact, they increased the concentration of those metals.

It is my belief that zeolite marketers started with the verifiable, true fact that zeolites adsorb cesium, then they generalized that to include "all heavy metals." This is how the myth was born. From there, the myth got repeated over and over until everybody accepted it as a truism. But it isn't true in lab tests. The only element I could get zeolites to capture in an efficient way was cesium. For other elements, the results just weren't there.

Here's the really bad news: Aluminum goes off the charts

One of the many claims made by zeolite marketers is that zeolites also remove aluminum from the body. This is a claim that's even been repeated by guest authors whose articles have appeared here on Natural News.

Yet zeolites are made of very high concentrations of aluminum, and when you place zeolites in gastric acid (i.e. the human stomach), you get a huge increase in the aluminum concentration of the gastric acid.

In my tests, we started with an aluminum concentration of 12,248ppb. Here's what we ended up with after digestion simulation using gastric acid:

Zeolite brand #1: 257,773ppb of aluminum

Zeolite brand #2: 210,044ppb of aluminum

Zeolite brand #3: 184,452ppb of aluminum

In other words, zeolites caused aluminum to INCREASE by as much as 2,100%.

That's quite an increase of aluminum for a dietary supplement that claims to "detox" aluminum from the body.

By the way, for the purpose of laboratory methodology recordkeeping, the masses of zeolite used in these tests were:

Zeolite brand #1: 0.9997g
Zeolite brand #2: 1.0489g
Zeolite brand #3: 1.0074g

We've all been lied to about zeolites

My conclusion from this scientific testing simply cannot be overstated: We've been LIED to about zeolites.

Keep in mind that I say this at great personal cost and legal risk. Not only does this make Natural News look bad for publishing articles that previously repeated the zeolite myth I'm now shattering, but I already have one zeolite company threatening to sue me over these revelations. (No doubt more will threaten me soon, too.)

My commitment is to the truth, not to artificial protectionism of any particular industry or product line. In the same way that I talk about glyphosate found in foods, I'm also dedicated to talking about heavy metals found in dietary supplements.

At this point, it is my opinion that aside from the cesium-related claims, zeolites are being marketed with false claims that imply the substance detoxes your body from all heavy metals.

It is my opinion that the marketers of zeolites have perpetuated a series of false mythologies to profit from selling a product that actually increases the quantity of aluminum and lead being introduced to the body. The fact that zeolites are made with high concentrations of aluminum and lead is indisputable.

It is also my belief that all health-conscious consumers should immediately halt any dietary intake of zeolites right now, unless they are directed to consume zeolites by a qualified naturopathic physician for some emergency application such as accidentally swallowing cesium-137. Even then, that physician needs to read about these laboratory results because they, too, may have been misinformed about zeolites.

Supplement industry FAIL

What we are really dealing with here is a very popular dietary supplement that, in my view, may be substantially increasing the load of lead and aluminum among consumers who take that product on a daily basis (as directed on the labels).

Some of the marketing that has accompanied zeolites has been so outlandishly exaggerated and falsified that it really qualifies as fraud.

This was not apparent to me, of course, until I built a million-dollar laboratory facility and used it to test both the composition and function of zeolites. But now that I've done the research, I cannot deny the validity of the scientific results acquired via careful, meticulous testing methodologies.

The fact that I'm willing to go public with these findings is all the proof you need that I am committed to public health and safety for foods, drugs and dietary supplements as well. When I see a problem that I believe poses a potential risk to consumers, I make sure the lab tests are reproducible, then I go public with it to help raise awareness among consumers.

For the record, I do not sell zeolites as a dietary supplement. The closest I come is Cesium Eliminator which is combined with Heavy Metals Defense and is positioned for use only in extreme nuclear emergencies such as nuclear war. There is no financial motive for me to artificially attack the zeolite industry. In fact, it will probably cost me tens of thousands of dollars to defend myself against frivolous lawsuits that I expect will be filed by zeolite product manufacturers. This is definitely a case where "no good deed goes unpunished."

The reason I am not afraid to go public with all this, however, is because any competent laboratory in the world can reproduce my results. Whatever lawsuits are leveled against me will eventually be thrown out because you can't sue someone for reporting the truth as verified by competent labs.

If you've been taking zeolites, get your blood tested for lead and aluminum

I'm now officially encouraging zeolite consumers to have their blood tested for lead and aluminum.

Please share your results with me at Natural News, because if this is found to be widespread, we may be blowing the whistle on a dietary product that could be directly impacting the health of tens of millions of people... almost all of whom have been wildly misinformed about the composition and function of the product they are taking.

Zeolite manufacturers should voluntarily halt sales

Zeolite manufacturers and marketers, upon reading this, should voluntarily halt all sales of zeolite products. If they wish, they can hire other ICP-MS laboratories to reproduce my own findings and thereby prove to themselves that the information I'm releasing to the public is accurate and sincere.

If a dietary supplement company is acting with integrity and safety for their consumers, they would immediately halt sales of any supplement found to contain such high concentrations of lead and aluminum, especially when that item is positioned as a "daily detox" that promises to remove lead and aluminum.

You will now be able to tell exactly which supplement manufacturers are more interested in profit than public safety by observing who continues to sell zeolite. Those are the ones that will openly LIE about the composition of their products. It has already begun, in fact. One Natural News reader forwarded me a message from a zeolite company who claims their product has "no lead" in it because there were assured it was "100% pure."

This is, of course, complete nonsense. All zeolites contain lead and aluminum. There's no such thing as a lead-free, aluminum-free zeolite, especially since zeolites are made of aluminum.

Just as happened when I published heavy metals laboratory results for contaminated rice protein products, I now fully expect to witness a wave of total lies, defamatory attacks and fraudulent claims from the zeolite industry.

Now you know why my laboratory is in a private location and why myself and other lab technicians are armed at all times with active firearms. Telling the truth is a very risky business these days, and what I've come to learn the hard way is that certain fringe elements of the natural products industry can be just as sleazy and dishonest as the pharma and vaccine industries.

Nevertheless, the science speaks for itself. If you are eating zeolites, you should probably stop. And if you are selling zeolites, you should probably stop that, too.

If you don't stop, you will probably sooner or later find yourself in a class action lawsuit from all your own customers... or shut down by the FDA or FTC, for that matter.

Don't blame me for this. All I did was analyze the stuff you've been selling and publish the results. Shame on you for selling lead and aluminum to your own health-conscious customers and calling it a "daily detox."
